"Exceptional service at a bargain price. Oceana Hostal Playero has a great location, only one short block from a great, clean, safe beach. The hotel pool provides a quick dip and lounge chairs are nearby for relaxing. We stayed in a villa, which is a great idea for a longer stay. Although the room did have a full kitchen, the hotel restaurant prepares delicicous local dishes. We tried and recommend the beef skirt, and pork medallions entrees, both come with rice and beans and are extremely delicious! Staff members were always helpful and friendly. Lighted streets gave reassurance whether walking around during day or night. Bars/restaurants were close by, but the nice thing about Oceana is that all amenities are provided on the premises. It’s nice to get out of the hotel and check out the neighborhood, but guests can find all they are looking for right there. We booked Oceana due to their bargain rates, but found a place we will definately revisit. It was a week stay, and we wish we could have stayed longer. We will be back!!! We highly reccommend this hotel to all!"...

"Loved it!!!!!! the staff was great, and i loved the neighborhood. i can't say anything bad about this place. Everyone there was great, the room was awesome. i loved the privacy and the best thing was the beach was right behind us! The food was awesome and the head chef came out and had dinner with us. i can't see myself staying any place else in Puerto Rico"...

"Charming hotel in Ocean Park.
I was very impressed with this hotel. Here are some of the high points: * 1 block from the beach * Has a restaurant with vegan and vegetarian options for all meals (soy milk and tofu!) * Good bar * A few blocks from (albeit expensive touristy) restaurants * Sunny courtyard with a little pool, plants, and a waterfall that is great to relax and eat meals in. They even upgraded us to a villa with a kitchen and living room for no charge for our second stay"...

“Oceana Hostal Playero was our choice as we wanted to stay in a place with local flavors and not one of the standard cardboard cutout hotel chains so common in any part of the U.S. And we made a good choice - if the room was a little basic, we didn’t notice it ‘cause the staff’s friendliness and hospitality could make up for anything. “My wife and I have been traveling to Puerto Rico for every spring for the last 15 years, to join the whole family for her parents’ wedding anniversary. We have stayed in many places, from the most ridiculuosly expensive to unbelievable cheap spots. This time we decided to go for the happy medium. As suggested by a friend of us that stayed there, we booked ourself in Oceana Hostal Playero. What a pleasant surprise it was. Very nice, cute, cozy and clean.
